You must be at least 18 years old to purchase Products from our website. By placing an order, you confirm that you meet this requirement.
2. Products – Fire Doors and Safety-Critical Items
Our Products include fire doors and associated components, which are safety-critical building products.
- Fire doors must be installed by competent and qualified professionals in accordance with manufacturer instructions, British Standards, and applicable UK legislation.
- Any modification, improper installation, or misuse of the Products may invalidate certifications, warranties, and legal compliance.
- Product images and descriptions are for illustrative purposes only. Minor variations may occur.
3. Compliance and Standards
Our fire door Products are manufactured and supplied to meet applicable UK regulations and standards, which may include:
- The Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005
- The Building Safety Act 2022
- Approved Document B (Fire Safety)
- Relevant British Standards (including BS 476 and/or BS EN 1634, where applicable)
Compliance applies only when Products are installed and maintained correctly. We are not responsible for compliance failures resulting from incorrect installation, alteration, or use.
4. Orders and Payments
- All prices are listed in GBP (£) and include VAT unless stated otherwise.
- Payment must be received in full before dispatch.
- We reserve the right to refuse or cancel orders due to pricing errors, stock issues, or suspected misuse.
5. Delivery and Risk
- Delivery dates are estimates only.
- Risk of loss or damage passes to you upon delivery.
- You must inspect Products upon delivery and notify us of any damage or defects within 48 hours.
6. Returns and Cancellations (UK Consumer Rights)
Nothing in these Terms affects your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 or the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013.
- Custom-made or made-to-spec fire doors products are non-refundable unless faulty.
- Standard Products may be returned within 14 days of delivery if unused and in resalable condition.
- Fire doors products that have been installed, altered, or damaged cannot be returned.
7. Certification and Documentation
Certain Products include components with specific certifications and approvals, including but not limited to:
- Detachable Architrave Kits made from construction-grade fire-retardant materials and CDE approved.
- Frame Adjusters and Fixings that are independently tested and supplied with CE approval, including EN 1634-1 fire resistance certification, where applicable.
All certifications apply only when Products are installed strictly in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions and the relevant test evidence. Any alteration, substitution of components, or deviation from tested installation methods may invalidate certifications and regulatory compliance.
Where applicable, certification documentation and test evidence are supplied with the Products or made available upon request. You are responsible for retaining this documentation for building control, insurers, and Responsible Persons under UK fire safety law.
8. Intellectual Property and Patents
All Products, designs, systems, components, and technical solutions supplied by E Proudman Ltd are protected by intellectual property rights.
- Certain Products are patented in the UK and/or other jurisdictions.
- All trademarks, logos, trade names, product names, and branding displayed on the website are owned by or licensed to E Proudman Ltd.
- All website content, technical documentation, drawings, images, specifications, and marketing materials are protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws.
You may not copy, reproduce, reverse engineer, distribute, modify, or create derivative works from our Products or materials without our prior written consent. Any unauthorised use may result in legal action.
9. User Responsibilities
You agree to:
- Use Products only for their intended purpose
- Ensure installation is carried out by competent persons
- Comply with all applicable fire safety and building regulations
10. Disclaimer
Except where prohibited by law, Products are supplied “as is”. We do not guarantee suitability for a specific building or application unless confirmed in writing.
11. Limitation of Liability
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any liability that cannot be excluded under UK law.
Subject to the above, our total liability shall not exceed the purchase price of the Product supplied.
12. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless against claims arising from improper installation, modification, or use of the Products.
13. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales shall have exclusive jurisdiction.
14. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms at any time. Continued use of the website constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
